High School Musical 3: Senior Year

I Finally went and saw High School Musical 3: Senior year today, it was all kinds of awesome, and what I was hoping to see.

There was singing and dancing and yes, OK, i kinda really liked the plot line. What better way to have a school musical that is about itself.

My only real issue with it was Zach's face, whats with all the painful expressions? seriously. Calm down child, really. It shouldn't be a massive issue to be singing like that, when everyone else doesn't need to make pained expressions.

Bit of a shame its over, but it would defiantly rate this one higher then number 2.

The West Wing - Season 1

My friends been singing the praises of The West Wing for over a month now. "the goddess that is Allison Janney' and i have ignored and quashed all of their praises, as i remember when the show was on TV, that it didn't take my fancy. But i would like to think that I've grown as a person since then.

This afternoon i took the plunge and have taken the challenge to watch the entire first season in 1 week. Yes starting today i have 7 days to watch 22 epsiodes. Thats an average of 3.14 a day...can i do it? well its not like i haven't done it before.

OK, so I'm 17min into the first episode, and haha Allison Janney has fallen off a treadmill. And some random reporter that is having a relationship with a Senator, is Chad Michael Murray's Mum in OTH, and there are various people that have had better roles in new series. Looks like this launched some careers. Good on it.

Nickelback - Dark Horse

The latest album from the Canadian band, and i for 1 LOVE it.

So while everything that i have read says that the album was to be released on the 18th November. I walked into my local BigW and there it was, in all its glory, and im pretty sure that it was on the top shelf in prime position.

I all but ran to the shelf and clutched my very own copy of the new album. It was mine, and I'm sure that i looked like a crazy person. Shame. but i dont care, i had my new album. But now im thinking back, why did i stay so long in Big W? What did i buy? a book and the album. HAH!

Its pretty heave rock - compared to their last one. The new album brings influence from their first few albums that were very rock centric.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that this was the best album, but its pretty sweet, and I'm sure to be listening to it for a while.

Single Ladies (Put your hands up) - Beyonce

Fresh from her new album, Beyonce had the hit 'If I were a boy' it didnt interest me that much, but then they released this new song "Single Ladies" and I like it. And i'm pretty sure that the DJ on Nova (is that what you call them?) likes it too.

Single Ladies (Put your hands up)

I can't embed it, cause youtube is being a mole, but im really liking the upbeat tempo of it.

Enjoy!

Lemon Detox

My father just started on the detox today, and my brother will be starting on the detox on Friday.

While i love and wish the best for them, i don't think they are doing it for the right reasons, i honestly think its more of a pissing contest between my brother and my father.

"Oh, i'm going to do the 14day one. your only going to do the relaxed one."

seriously.

The Lemon Detox site could use some work, but aside from that, it really just seems something of a Fad, and a waste of time and money for something that *might* work. Plus its a total gimmick that they are using Beyonce, and Tania Zaetta on the site in Bikini's...BECAUSE THEY WERE TOTALLY FAT BEFORE!!!!

While yes, there has to be obvious health benefits to losing weight and cleansing the body of shit, but at what cost? your only eating lemon, tree sap and pepper. with some hot water thrown in there for good measure.

The book they give you, its telling you all these rules and stuff like 'drink warm fluids' cause its better for your metabolism. That may be so...but you get tools that on a day you could probably have a fan on, they are dressed in a tracksuit and in bed under the covers...

Yesterday McCann Sydney took part in the second ever agency wide Film afternoon.

We were down broken into groups and where we were given a topic 'Cursed' on Monday 27th. We had from then till now, to come up with an idea, write the script, source the location, come up with props, costumes, shoot and edit by 630pm Friday 31st November.

I was part of the group 666 productions.

Our Video:

While we only came second, it was still the most fun we've had at work this year!

The other films will be uploaded in the next few days.

Dragonball - The Movie

I was really hoping that this movie would be REALLY cool. But im slowly coming to realise that this is just going to be kinda sad...

The teaser trailer is here:

Im just not sure how...good its going to be. as many of the comments around the inernets are saying, its going to be a kinda cool kung-fu action movie, but its not going to be good to the original manga story.

And Piccolo/James masters looks lame. ugh. and master roshi doesnt look old enough...sorry.

Why is it that they can never make something new, of an old series/movie and make it cool? is it cause we hold the original in such high regard? like Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.....suuuuuuuuuuuuucked! but i still watched it out of obligation haha.

Walking to town hall

I don't know why people feel the need to proclaim their coolness by wearing skinny jeans? especially men. its really not appealing.

Yesterday was rather eventful on the way home...a young man in his 20's was ahead of me on william street. Weedy little white man (like REALLY white, and skinny) had jeans that an 8year old would have had trouble fitting into had a shirt "I'm Big in Lakemba".

i only wish that i could have taken a photo of him to prove that he existed.

My initial reactions were:

1. I'm pretty sure you've never been to Lakemba and if you have, why boast?
2. Haha walk past someone of any ethnic background they'll hurt you
3. Fuckin loser

I figured that when i get back to the shire (aaaaaaaaahhhhhahhahahaha) i'd be surrounded by surfers, who were somewhat normal, but no, there was a stupidly tall man that was something early 20's that had never nude shorts on. it was no more then 16 degrees last night, and he was wearing never nude shorts at 8pm. wtf? but he did have his rabin shoes on...which says it all...TOSSER.

I'm Yours - Jason Miraz

This is a pretty beautiful song, and when I hear it, it makes me want to wind down the windows and shout out to the world. It's not often that a song could/does have that effect on me, so when it does i grab onto it and ride it till stops.

Neglectful

BAH!!!

I've been a little more then neglectful of late. sorry for that. My internet has been a bit of a mole...and i havent found the time to blog about something.

I've been getting back into my music collection, sorting out out, getting album covers and making sure all the metadata is all good. I subscribe to a web 2.0 thing Last.FM which records what i play and updates my live feed on what songs im listening to. Apart from recording my listening habits, it collates and organises my collections, and recommends similar artists based on the music styles that i listen to. pretty sweet, and some of the recomendations i have actually liked.

One thing with my music is the ecelctic combination of Rock and Pop that i play, i think the below list is pretty accurate in representing my music haha:

Emily's Birthday Party

What started out like it could have been a shitty day, turned out to be a really nice day. Emily turned One on the 10th, so we celebrated in style getting adam and shievauns friends over here to stuff themselves full of food and alcamahole and give her some presents.

My presents were by far the greatest..muahhaha a wooden Xylophone that was just...LOUD, some clothes from rockyourbaby.com which were AWESOME and best of all a blow up cow. hot.

The day slowly turned into an alco-fest with my brothers friends really drunk, and my father keeping up.

Heh, i had had a few, but went for a jog cause i just didnt feel the need to be around the drunken people much longer, got back to find one of his mates puking in the backyard. Since i was the only sober one, i had to drive him home...in my car. joy.

After about 2 hours, i had to drive Adam and shievaun home. I took their mate along with him, and was coerced to take him back to his place once he was finished at Adams. Which was pretty sweet, since in his drunk state, he ended up throwing a $50 at me to cover the cost of taking him home. saweet.

Happy Birthday Mum!!!

Today is Mum's birthday.

For the first time in about a week i left work before 7pm SCORE!!!

But, I was made pay for dinner haha. 3 people, 7 dishes, $80 at the local Chinese restaurant (Palace Gardens, Menai Central). Clearly mum didn't mind what she was ordering.

But it will all be good, now i have interesting lunch for the rest of the week.

HSM3: Senior Year

The New High School Musical movie is set to come out on October 24th 2008 (America), and it is set for the first theatrical release of the HSM franchise.

I for one am excited about it, mainly cause i'm a geek for these sorts of movies - especially if they are Disney (except Jump In. That just shouldn't have been made...or thought of...)

One thing that does disappoint me is the release date for other countries (according to IMDB.com - source for all things movies). Australia will have to wait a whole month to be able to see it. Which means, the chances of it getting pirated just goes up exponentially. Why don't they understand that with this generation, we want shit now, and we'll get it however we can. And who knows, by the time we get to seeing it on the big screen, more then likely they will have started work on the next one (just a thought...nothing concrete!)

Not to mention there will be spoilers and crap all over the internet.

I'm all cool for things like R5 DVDs for places like Russia, that get just the movie on a DVD instead of all the added extras to try combat the issues of piracy, but if we can do R5's...why not just do worldwide release dates?

The Official Site has a trailer up on the landing page, its quite the fun.

And courtesy of E! Online, here is a small sneek peek of the new movie.

The International Conference Call

This person clearly works at Microsoft, or is a Microsoft Vendor. They know exactly how the conference call goes. The one they didn't include is where someone doesn't have the phone on Mute, and you hear EVERYTHING in the background.

Or the one where the guy is talking, that mobile noise kicks in, and the speaker has to excuse himself to take the call.

I've had a couple of great ones, it was 10am local, and it was either REALLY early, or late in Japan and the cleaning crew was vacuuming, and they asked the guy to switch rooms.

I was on a particularly amusing call just last week, the speaker was interrupted by someone joining the call about 20min into the call, so she was totally in the middle of speaking. To get her own back, called the guy out, several times with a 'if anyone ELSE has any questions, feel free to ask, XXX I'll answer any of your questions after the call's finished.'

Empire Movie Quiz

Oh, this is cool:

Empire Movie Quiz

I got about 21 correct on first attempt. I feel somewhat proud of my skills...*crickets*

Whats $2 in the scheme of things?

Elizabeth and Park Street. Google Maps Street View.
i feel ill.

i saw a what was i assume was a homeless man, and by man i mean no more then 25 - begging for money for food - get hit by a truck.

In frustration that no one would spare $2 to help him out, he stormed off into the oncoming traffic, with only one goal in mind - to get across the road to ask more people for change. Only thing was, the little man wasn't green, and it was one of the busiest fucking streets in Sydney CBD.

The truck attempted to stop, but since it was going 60km with the flow of traffic, and only saw the man darting in and out of the surrounding cars, it didnt have a real chance to stop. It slowed down, considerably, but still hit him.

ugh, the sound was so...ugh.

I think he will be alright...sore, but alright. There was ambo's. Traffic is sure to be anus.

i just keep thinking, if i didnt have that coffee this morning, i could have given $2 to him, which would have stopped him walking out on that road...if only for a minute. at least the truck would have passed?

Do we really have it that easy?

In the never ending battle between generations it always comes back to the whole debate of 'You have it easier then we did, everything is handed to you on a plate, and you take it for granted'

my dad is often fond of the line
I used to walk in the snow to get to the train, to get to school

and will always throw in:
We didn't have the money for me to buy a bike, I made mine from parts i found at the tip. And when we raced I always won.

With all the technology that we have at our disposal, I ask, despite what older generations had/think/say or do, do we really have it that much easier? I don't think so.

Sure, we have more luxury items and stuff, but you dont have to buy them?
House prices are stupid - unless you want a million $$$ debt...
Petrol is stupid
Competition with Jobs etc.

This could just be a case of HTFU. but whatever.

Bejing Olympics 2008

With the Olympics starting tonight, everyone is in Olympic Fever, and i can totally get it. Everyone is comparing it to Sydney, and the hype that was around for that - but i can't really say, i was in High School still and HA! we went to England for them...

But i do admire the athletes and what they do, and they are the best of the best. But i have to think, What do they do outside of being an Olympian? do they have real jobs, and lives? or do they just train?

I've never seen or heard of an olympian doing anything other then their sport, but how is that a sustainable income? Since i'm clearly not an Olympian, i'm in no way qualified to really comment and say they are a burden on Society, we taxpayers send them off to a random country every 4 years to do their thing for 10min and then do it again in another 4 years.

God bless her, Dawn Fraiser, lovely lady, but what does she do? All i see her doing is commenting on Olympic shit, and on TV ads. WTF?

While im not this unco, this I would probably fall into this category of people, and therefore why i would never be going to an Olympics (Regular or Parra)

The Dark Knight

Heath Ledger scares me. no. really.

I saw the Dark Knight with my brother today. Ok, I was a little hungover, but dealing with it fine. but still.

Thedarkknightisthebestmovieeverinthehistoryofallmovies.

Why So Serious? ahhh I can't really form words as to how awesome the movie was. I...I just can't.

Heath was AMAZING as the joker, its almost too sad that he won't ever be around to reprise the role.

It's my party

Celebrations this year were...almost non-existant. I didn't really do anything. I spent my birthday at Emma's place, it was good. Great fun.

Camp Rock

Disney's latest teenage musical. It's got singing, its got dancing, its got...the same plot as Highschool Musical...But its Disney, so you have to love it...well I did HA!

But you have to give it to disney, they know a good thing when they have it. Totally milk it for all its worth haha. But what annoyed me about it was the Jonas brothers, they were in it as a boy band, that wasnt really a boy band, they just looked and acted like they were a boyband.

The story was little more then predictable, but again, its disney...haha...Small town gal, with poor parents and wishful dreams. She goes to *the* best music camp(???) that discovers like all the awesome american talent. She gets to go cause her mum does the cooking. but OMG she has to help out. Shame the other rich kids don't know.

21

I liked this movie, I liked the concept, and I'm sure that there are a bunch of people that cracked the shits that this came out, mainly cause it told everyone what they were doing...Ha and I'm pretty sure the casino's didn't enjoy it too much, cause every geek with a math degree would be sitting there thinking they too can count cards and start their own group of card counting fiends!

The plot twist was kinda dumb, it was predictable and ultimately boring.

The wannabe that got kicked off the team, shouldn't have been in the movie, he can't act...unless he is a loser...and supposed to be acting like a loser.

Battle Royal

I don't think you could ever make a better movie from a book. Take a class of what appear to be 15 yo, put them on an island, give them a rucksac that has a weapon, bottle of water and a stick of bread, and tell them that if they don't kill each other till there is only one standing...and if you don't kill your friends in 48 hours, you'll die too.

HA!

those wacky Japanese.

It wasn't one of those movies that you 'enjoy' because its youngins killing each other the whole way, but it was kinda funny. Partly cause of the teacher. He took a lot of pleasure in killing the kids.

27 Dresses

This was a really nice movie. about dresses. and Katherine Heigl. and her relationship issues. The biggest problem with this movie was she didn't have it off with James Marsden earlier.

The best scene would have to be trying on the dresses, you could really see that she was having fun with that, and I think James was having fun with it too. Thinking about it, i wonder how that would have been on set that day? 'Cause i cant really imagine that Katherine is a prima donna mole, so I'm wondering about the amount of costume changes. cause that would have been a bitch.

While the movie didn't really have that award winning thing to it, but it was still kinda cute.

St Trinians

Haha, so this was such a shit movie. But i kinda knew what it was about, so i shouldn't/can't be complaining.

I was a little confused as to what audience this was actually aimed at, i mean sure "Girls" yes, thats obvious, but what age? There was overt sexual commentary, and 'adult themes' but there was such a childish nature to the whole thing.

Now without talking about the films artistic nature, or the composure, it was a pretty well put together film. But the plot could have been a little better. It was all sweet and shit that they saved the school, by using the money of the guy who wanted to shut it down, that was kinda funny, but theat they stole a painting was kinda naff.

I kinda liked the child-like nature of the movie, and was a pretty sweet Sunday Arvo flick.

Step Up 2: The Streets

I really liked this, like really..
Not overly sure why though...

It was a better storyline then the first one, it was more interesting then #1. It wasnt really just about a second chance, but more about the dance, and that the dance is...everything. Thats what sold it for me.

I think the soundtrack was a whole lot better, '3 6 9' by cupid was awesome and Low by Flo Rider was a great fit. The dance scenes were a lot better choreographed, and they were synchronised, making it seem more like a routine then just a loser doing their own shit.

I recommend that the one person that reads this should go and see!
